Since it’s summer, and I absolutely love this season, I thought it’d be fun to share a few things I just can’t get enough of right now. From food, to products, to things that could make this time of year brighter and healthier for you. Relax and enjoy. Hope you are having a great start to these sunny months.

1) Cucumber-Lemon Water

Great way to mix up the boring water routine and have a taste of the spa at home. Slice fresh cucumber and lemon and chill in a pitcher of filtered water. Try adding fresh mint too!

2) KitchenAid Mixer in Pistachio
KitchenAid Pistachio Green Mixer
Purchased mine a few months ago and love the product and color. So many bright options to choose from now, but I’m pleased with the fresh minty green color it adds to my kitchen (and functionality).

3) Starbuck’s Iced Passion Tea (no sweetener added)
iced passion tea
A very low calorie, caffeine free drink with naturally sweet berry flavors. Make it economically at home: buy the Tazo tea bags at Target (or other grocery store) brew and chill. Fill a glass full of ice, fresh lemon slices or frozen berries and voila, a beautiful, tasty summer beverage. Or if your lazy like me some days, just drive through, grab your Venti and be on your way. Add a little Stevia or honey if you like it sweet.

4) Pure Chocolate Brownie Bar
Gluten and dairy free bar that tastes like a chocolate brownie studded with walnuts – need I say more? I buy them by the case around here. (See #5 for added indulgence.)

5) Mint Chip SO Delicious Coconut Milk Ice Cream
mint chip
Another product that needs few words. Gluten free, dairy free, soy free…. and tastes amazing (if you like the flavor or coconut obviously). I don’t keep it in the freezer on a consistent basis, but it’s a wonderful treat now and then. They offer a variety of flavors and one small scoop on a slightly warmed up Chocolate Brownie Pure Bar is heavenly. Allergen free summer dessert, brownie a la mode please. I also do apple or cherry pie Larabars this way with the vanilla bean flavor (not to give away more of my indulgent secrets).

6) Cold Tangerines (book)

Shauna Niequist is a new found writer that I am loving. She has a blog, http://www.shaunaniequist.com/ and two other published books. I just started this one and it is so good. Shauna has a gift of writing, hospitality and story telling. I’m learning a lot about slowing down and appreciating the God created beauty in life each day in our anxious, fear driven culture. Good summer read by the pool or on vacation. Other books include Bittersweet and Bread & Wine.
