Refreshing, cold and delicious.  My apple berry tea is sweet, but not too sweet, with no added sugar.  Filled with crisp apple, and pops of fruity berry flavors.  Come home from work, pour a glass over ice, and relax on your front porch swing like a true southerner would, sipping sweet tea.

Multiplied this recipe is great for a backyard party, graduation party or brunch.  Crush some ice, toss in a few ruby-red apple slices and voila, an easy beautiful drink.  Try adding frozen berries instead of ice cubes, keeps drinks cold without watering down.

APPLE BERRY ICED TEA

makes about 8 cups

  • 2 CELESTIAL SEASONING’S HERBAL BLUEBERRY TEA BAGS, caffeine free
  • 4 CELESTIAL SEASONING’S HERBAL WILD BERRY OR CHERRY TEA BAGS, caffeine free
  • 4 cups 100% PURE APPLE JUICE, no added sugar
  • 4 cups WATER
  • APPLE SLICES FOR GARNISH, optional

1. Steep all 6 tea bags (I bought a variety pack) in 4 cups of boiling water for about 10 minutes, heat turned off and covered.

2. Discard tea bags and let cool. Combine tea with the apple juice and refrigerate until cold. Serve over crushed ice with apple slices or frozen berries. Makes about 8 cups. Serving Size: 1 cup.

VARIATIONS: Use other berry or fruit flavored teas (red zinger, blackberry, raspberry, peach, etc). Substitute cranberry juice for apple.
